Philippa Courtenay
Design has always been a personal passion of mine, however it was not a career which I initially chose. After completing ‘A’ levels, I studied a BScDietetics, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Dietetics, through the University of Natal, to become a Registered Dietician in 2000. I established a private practice in 2001 and worked in this until 2014.
I had the desire to study further, so I took a ‘leap of faith’ by studying interior decorating in 2012. I obtained distinctions for every assignment and project completed and was in my element learning some intricacies of the design industry!
Having more formally learnt the ability to change how a space looks and feels to people entering it is fabulous. I also knew that I was doing what I was meant to do!
The tremendous Walt Disney quote ‘If you can dream it, you can do it’ has become a mantra of mine.
The success of my business so far has been the attention to every detail, which I provide my clients with. I love what I do!
My design style is ‘considered’ with every client’s brief adhered to achieve the desired outcome. Every piece of furniture, paint color or object in the space is there for a purpose!
